Three Hundred Years
In case you hadn't guessed from the domain name, I'm very interested in Siberia, especially the history of Siberia. The first project that I'm going to tackle is a translation of an article by Nikolai Mikhailovich Iadrintsev (1842-1892) written to commemorate the three hundredth anniversary of the conquest of Siberia.
My plan is to try and make this more than a simple translation. I think my objective is, well, transparency. I want to do my best to explain and highlight those things that "get lost" in translation.
While I'm still getting everything pulled together, I thought I'd offer a starter reading list on the history of Siberia. Happy reading.
