Partnership

Pillar is structured as a Limited Liability Partnership within the state of Texas. The current partners include Michael Stewart, Nick Powling, and Travis Hurst.

Michael Stewart

Michael has a distinguished history in numerous entrepreneurial ventures. He has been involved in the development and implementation of technology solutions for real estate portfolio operations for 16 years. Most recently, Michael founded SiteStuff, Inc., a company that has grown to become the preeminent web-based provider of MRO (maintenance, repair, and operational) products and services to the commercial real estate industry (e.g., light bulbs, electrical goods, paper products). As SiteStuff's Chairman, and CEO, he led the company from inception through three rounds of fundraising of $50 million in private equity, and the signing of the world's largest property management companies as investors and partners. Prior to SiteStuff, Michael was CEO of two real estate management software companies with an elite international Customer list that included The Travelers Realty Investment Co., Goldman Sachs Whitehall Realty Fund, and IBM. In addition, Michael led commercialization efforts of pre-emergent software technologies in partnership with the MCC Research Consortium. This effort also included work on advanced, intelligent software agents for the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade. Michael attended Baylor University.

Nicholas Powling

Nick Powling has extensive experience in the life insurance industry, having served as Vice president of Anthem Inc. (finance, acquisition) and subsequently as President and CEO of Lincoln Heritage Corporation. Nick was the principal Anthem analyst for, and a significant leader of, its largest life insurance company acquisition. He led the reorganization and growth of Lincoln Heritage Corporation through an initial public offering. Prior to his experience in the insurance industry, Nick worked as an audit manager for Coopers & Lybrand and as a financial analyst and manager for GTE International. Nick received an Honors Degree in Economics from the University of Sussex and an MBA from Indiana University. He is an Accredited Charter Accountant (England).

Travis Hurst

Travis was a founding executive at SiteStuff, and was the primary author of its business plan. Travis served as Chief Product Officer, where he was responsible for developing and managing new business areas. Travis has six years of experience with McKinsey & Co, most recently as an Engagement Manager. He has extensive experience with acquisition analysis and post-merger management. He received an MBA from The Kellogg School at Northwestern University, and a BBA in accounting from Texas A&M University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
